Library Services

Library Cards

  • When applying for all types of library cards, you must show proof of residency by providing us with a photo ID that shows your current name and address, as well as a piece of non-advertised mail from the last 60 days showing the same information. Any patron under the age of 18 must bring in a parent/guardian to sign them up for services. Any patron with an Evergreen Indiana issued library card may use our services. Patrons may check in/out or request materials from any Evergreen Indiana Library as well as pay any Evergreen Indiana Library fines & fees.
  • Residents who live in or own property in Grant Township and/or the town of Waterloo, are eligible for a tax supported library card for no additional cost.
  • Non-Resident library cards are $95 for the year.
  • Smithfield Township residents are eligible for a six-month subscription sponsored by the Smithfield Township Board of Trustees. Contact Diana Miller at (260) 333-6689 if you have any questions. 
  • Student Cards are available to any student attending Dekalb County schools. Please note that student cards are usable only at the issuing library.

Notary Services

By appointment only. Please call or stop in the library to reserve your appointment. ​It should be noted the notary is not an attorney licensed to practice law in Indiana. They are not allowed to draft legal records or give advice on legal matters. ​

Printing Services

The Library offers printing, copying, faxing and laminating services. Staff members will operate the Fax Machine, Copier, Color Scanner or Laminator for you. (Charges for these services apply).

Computers & WiFi

Wi-fi is available throughout the building.
Computers with Microsoft Office and internet access are available for patron use. Free wi-fi is available on the library premises a half hour prior to opening and a half hour after closing.

Community Room & Meeting Room

The Community Room may be reserved by any non-profit community oriented group for no charge. All other reservations require a $25 non-refundable usage fee. Applications and reservations must be complete before the meeting date. 
The Meeting Room can be reserved up to a month in advance. No application is required and there is no usage fee.

Genealogy

The Genealogy Department holds many local genealogical and historical materials, including DeKalb County census records up to 1920, all copies of The Waterloo Press on microfilm, and yearbooks, records, photographs, and more.
